Eldest daughter of two professional musicians, Emily grew up surrounded by music and never really considered doing anything else as a career. She attended the Royal Northern College of Music and met Stuart King soon afterwards playing in the Brunel Ensemble. She has been a member of Chroma since the early days and remembers certain highlights with great fondness!
A job with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra meant four very happy years living in Edinburgh. She met her husband in January 2004 and soon afterwards left the SCO and joined the Philharmonia as no 2 second violin, a post she has held ever since. Combining this job with Chroma and being mother of two children doesn't leave much spare time but Emily's perfect day would involve a good book, a beautiful garden and a glass or two of white wine!
